The five comprehensive media courses at SH School of Communication covers the fields of Animation, Graphic Design, Journalism, Film and Television. Action learning, inculcation of an inquisitive mind and the practical application of learnt methods help mould a wholesome approach by the students. Their hands-on experiences are complemented with a strong faculty presence, international guest sessions and event management and participation.

Undergraduate

  • 1 B.A. Animation and Graphic Design

    The graphic design and animation programme equips students for a wide range of careers in the industry such as publication design, advertising design, animation, broadcast design, interactive design and illustration. The various elements of the course develop a set of skills that students can apply at a technical level, including design, drawing, critical thinking, creativity, daring, collaboration and a fundamental awareness of theory and history.

    Eligibility: A pass in +2 or equivalent examination/Any Degree.

    Duration: 6 semesters

Postgraduate

  • 1 M.A. Digital Animation

    MA Digital Animation gives you the chance to develop a personal practice that understands animation, in multiple forms, address multiple situations and help you develop innovative approaches driven by critical understanding and experimental production. This postgraduate course aims to develop the student's personal philosophies on design with a view to developing a personal area of specialism. This course will enable students with some experience of 3D computer graphics to develop and enhance their abilities in the skills required by the computer animation and visual effects industries. It is one of a suite of digital media program that enable you to study professional digital media practice in a studio environment and work as part of an interdisciplinary team with students from across the full programme.

    Eligibility: Graduation in any field.

    Duration: 4 semesters

    Note: Preference will be given to candidates with the following: Training in Multimedia, Animation, Graphics, Videography, Film Appreciation, Journalism, Communication, Visual Arts, Painting, Theatre, Architecture and Music.

  • 2 Master of Communication and Journalism - MCJ

    Quality education in communication/journalism studies has been a dream for the academic society in Kerala and SHSC gives its best to fill the vacuum. For journalism aspirants, the MCJ programme provides the perfect learning platform, blending theory and practical learning. Designed to meet global standards, this course fosters creative and responsible communication professionals, who will be the next generation journalists, perception managers, corporate communicators, PR professionals, advertisers, visualisers and much more.

    Eligibility: Graduation in any field.

    Duration: 4 semesters

  • 3 M.A. Cinema and Television

  • 4 M.A. Graphic Design

    The programme aims to develop analytical skills and critical judgment enabling the student for technological and/or aesthetic innovations in the subject of Communication Design. The Graphic Design programme begins with the study of design history, theory and traditional design skills, then progresses to current graphic design practices and technology solving real world communication design issues, integrating a command of visual language with imagination, theory and technology.

    Eligibility: Graduation in Graphic Design or related fields OR Graduation in any field and a Diploma in Design with keen aptitude and interest.

    Duration: 4 semesters
